The Creative Journey of a Unique Spray Paint Artist

Known as the "lady with the spray paint" among friends and family, I create spray paint portraits and imagery combining hand cut, multi-layered stencils with free hand spraying.

A Little Bit About The Spray Paint Lady

Ari Krasner was born and raised in New York City, I turned to community service during college and later became a first responder. In 2009, I moved to Washington, D.C., after completing my terms as an AmeriCorps member, where I worked with the local community and the national 988 Crisis Lines. Over the years, my passion for painting has flourished, and today, I earn my living through the sale of my collection and commissions. I showcase my artwork in exhibitions and have been a featured artist at various events throughout D.C.

The Spray Paint Lady

Inspiration

While exploring the backstreets of various cities and towns, I discovered my inspiration for a new form of art and became a spray paint artist.

Technique

My technique allows me to construct multiple layers of stencils, creating photographically lifelike images on canvas. This multi-layering in grayscale brings my portraits to life.

Process

Through meticulous hand-cutting of detailed layers, I reveal the relationship between the subject and the painting.

Subject Matter

Each subject I choose reflects the neighborhoods I have lived in, the places I have traveled, and the people I have met. My work goes beyond accurate depiction; it aims to reveal the depth of the subject and expose something unexpected through my unique layering process.
